How We Met

It seems like a long time ago but it was only in the beginning of 2018 that we first met at a Becoming a Writer Course run by Farhana Shaikh of The Asian Writer.

It was a 12-week online course and really helped us shift from being secret scribblers to published authors, storytellers, spoken word artists, novel writers, flash fiction writers, poets and play wrights, and much more.

More? Yes! Because we were finally able to call ourselves writers.

Once the course finished, the seven of us decided to keep in touch via a Whatsapp group and the rest, as they say, is history or maybe more appropriately herstory.

We noticed that by being present, cheering each other on during highs and supporting each other through the inevitable lows, we were able to find success again and again.

If you’d like to know more or are interested in how you could maybe begin a writer’s group in a similar vein, click below to watch our complete video on the topic of ‘Connection’ which was recorded for the 2021 South Asian Festival.

This video also reveals our current project, “The Travelling Notebook”.
